You’ve said yes at the last minute to that special date or you’ve been invited to that party but there is no time to wash your hair. There is a product on the beauty shelves that sounds like it has been made in heaven. Yes its dry shampoo!

What is dry shampoo?

Dry shampoo is a dry powder in an aerosol that you spray on your hair to reduce greasiness and give it volume. There is no need for water when you use dry shampoo.

It has a refreshing effect on the hair. However, it does not clean your hair. 

What is another name for dry shampoo?

Another name for dry shampoo is hybrid shampoo.

What is dry shampoo made from?

It is often made from corn starch or rice starch. There may also be some alcohol in the spray.

How often can you use dry shampoo?

You can use dry shampoo once or twice a week.

Can dry shampoo replace wet shampoo?

Not at all. Dry shampoo is effective and has its place as an emergency shampoo. Wet shampoo cleans your hair properly removing dirt, bacteria and yeast unlike dry shampoo.

Dry shampoo should be used in moderation. 

What effect can Heavy overuse of dry shampoo have on your hair?

Heavy over use of dry shampoo can lead to an itchy scalp, dandruff, hair breakage, clogged hair follicles and hair loss.
