Why Protein Bars Are Good For You When You Work Out?

So many people support their workouts by consuming protein bars. But what are they and why are they useful?

Read our short write up that will answer any questions you have.

What is a protein bar?

A protein bar is a snack food which gives your body instant protein and other nutrients. Snack bars can have added vitamins, fibre, minerals, milk, yoghurt, grains, egg whites and plant based ingredients.

Protein bars are a convenient source of protein for your body and useful for a busy and energetic lifestyle, especially when working out.

How do they help?

When a protein bar is consumed, the protein will be digested slower by the body compared to carbohydrates. This can stop you feeling hungry for a longer length of time thus curbing appetite.

The nutrients in protein bars help with energy levels during a workout and muscle repair after a workout.

A diet high in protein can help increase muscle mass.

When is the best time to eat a protein bar?
