Nourishing your belly button with oil is a very old (over 3000 years old) ancient ayurvedic remedy for healing many ailments. It is also known to balance, heal, and correct many nerve connections in the body.
Oiling your belly button is known across the world as the pechoti method. The pechoti method believes that a pechoti gland exists behind the belly button. The pechoti gland has millions of nerves and over 72 thousand veins. However, this is not accepted in modern western medicine.
It is very important not to push oil into your belly button but to very gently pour a few drops into your belly button and allow it to absorb naturally. You can help the absorption with your finger by gently massaging the oil in a circular motion into the belly button. But please remember, gently do it.
Oiling your belly button before bedtime is great because you can allow your body to heal while you sleep.
There is no scientific evidence to support the benefits of oiling your belly button however, millions of people across the globe swear by it. Try it and make up your own mind!
