How To Feel And Look Young

To be honest it’s not about how old you are or what generation you are from. It’s really all about how you feel.

Feeling young is not superficial or vain. It is one of the essences of life. And an important one. Once you start feeling young, you will start to think young. Once you start to think young you will make choices that will make you smile, happy, enjoy and appreciate life, and destress you. And while all this is happening you will naturally start to look young.

We have listed a few pointers for you to think about and implement. So here goes….

Tell yourself all day you are young

It takes a minimum of 21 days to make something into habit. So for 21 days tell yourself when you wake up, when you look in the mirror, before you eat, before you sleep that you are young and gorgeous.

You will soon start to feel young because you are telling your body it is young. Once this happens you will start to look young because your body will become what it is being told and what it thinks.

Of course you must continue telling yourself ‘you are young’ even after 21 days until it is so cemented in your brain that you think and look young every time you catch yourself in the mirror.

No visible grey hairs

We know a lot of people keep grey hair because it makes them look distinguished, wise, and mature. The main aim of their grey hair is to be taken seriously and come across as if they know what they are talking about. If this is the case then good for you!

The point we are trying to make here is about the grey hairs around your hairline and the grey strands that make it obvious you are stressed, feel old and that make your appearance come across as hagged and ungroomed.

Dye your hair/roots and don’t let your grey hairs show. It is the most obvious sign of your age and what you may have been through. It doesn’t have to cost a lot because there are many home dyes available.

Hair dyes will make you look young by removing grey hairs and as a result you will feel young. That is the beauty of that little box of dye sitting on the shelf in the supermarket so go get one!

No direct sunlight on your skin

UV light from the sun can damage and prematurely age your skin. But that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t enjoy the sun. The warmth of the sun is good for you. The sun’s rays must be kept directly away from your skin. You can do this by covering up or using a SPF lotion. Protecting your skin from the sun can prevent wrinkles, brown spots and a lifeless complexion.

Get the sexy haircut

Your haircut can take years off the way you look. Layering your hair, framing your face, hair falling on your shoulder, making it shorter or bangs can make you sexier and younger. Look through magazines and see if you can find a look that would suit you. Go to your hairdresser, be honest at what you’re trying to achieve and tell them what you want, have a discussion/consultation, allow them to give you a few ideas and show you some cuts that would make you look younger.

Get a good night’s sleep

A good night’s sleep on a regular basis is excellent in keeping you looking and feeling young. Your skin will look bright, especially the skin around your eyes. Your responses will be better and you will feel less stressed which will all affect how you look and feel.

Drink water

Drinking at least 2-3 litres of water a day will do wonders for your skin elasticity and youthfulness. Water will hydrate and add moisture to your skin, reduce the onset of wrinkles and you will not overeat trying to compensate for the fact you may be thirsty.

Walk everywhere

Walking is one of the best exercises ever. It moves so many parts of your body in one go, prevents skin sagging and tones muscles. Regular daily walking is very effective in making you feel younger than you really are as it slows down the ageing process. Regular walking also improves your intake of oxygen into and around the body. As a result the blood carrying this oxygen will take nutrients with it to all parts of the body including the skin. The sweat you produce while you walk will cleanse your skin making you look and feel younger.

Nutrients

It is very easy to be deficient in one vitamin or another. Our diets can be crazy and often full of easy convenience foods. However, optimum nutrition is important for your body to fight free radicals, fight cancer and diseases and maintain your organs of which your skin is the biggest. Take a daily multivitamin and mineral supplement to keep your health at its best. You will feel good and as a result you will look young.

Think about now

As a norm many people tend to think of the past and worry about tomorrow and what it will bring. While we are doing this we can forget to enjoy today, relish today and make the most of today. Having fun, laughing and enjoying what is in front of you rather than worrying about the past keeps you feeling young and alive.

If you can have lots of sex

There is nothing better than sex to feel young. This intimate act is great for stress and anxiety relief. Orgasams release hormones in your body that are great for your skin and prevent ageing.
