We advise you to always do a patch test first before you apply any new product on your skin. Skin care products tend to have many different ingredients so it’s hard to tell from face value whether or not your skin will react well.
That’s why a patch test is so important. You can determine whether the product is safe for you to use and whether you might get any adverse reactions.
But how do you do a patch test?
Let us show you how…..
Step 1
If the product is for your face, apply a small amount (about the size of your nail) under your jawline or behind your ear. This is so the product is in an area that you’re not likely to accidentally rub or wash away by accident. If the product is for your body, apply a small amount on your wrist, arm or hand.
Step 2
Leave the product on your skin for as long as the product instructs you to.
Step 3
During this time, check repeatedly for inflammation, itching, swelling, discolouration or a burning sensation. If you develop a reaction, wash the product off immediately.
Step 4
If after the instructed time you have not noticed any reactions, then you are free to use the product on the rest of your skin.
Please also note that we do advise you to speak to your doctor or therapist before you ingest or topically apply any new product.
