1. It’s also known as ascorbic acid and ascorbate.

2. It’s a water-soluble vitamin. 

3. It’s available as a liquid, tablet, chewable gummy, effervescent, and powder. 

4. In 1993, vitamin C was the first vitamin to be chemically produced.

5. Vitamin C is naturally found in oranges, strawberries, peppers, potatoes, broccoli, and blackcurrants.

6. Prolonged cooking of foods which contain vitamin C can destroy its vitamin C content.

7. Consuming vitamin C can strengthen your immune system.

8. Vitamin C promotes collagen and connective tissue production in the body.

10. It also plays a role in neurotransmitter production – These are chemical messengers that send information around the body.

11. It’s a cofactor in many enzymatic reactions in the body thus helping body enzymes do their job.

12. It protects the body’s cells and repairs body tissue.

13. It promotes healthy skin as it’s an antioxidant – it fight’s and removes harmful toxins from the skin.

14. It helps the absorption of the mineral iron.

15. It helps the body recover from cuts, bruises, and wounds.

16. It supports your heart and prevents heart disease.
