1. A vitamin B complex is a group of 8 B vitamins –

a) B1 thiamine

c) B3 niacin
d) B5 pantothenic acid
e) B6 pyridoxine
f) B7 biotin
g) B9 folic acid
h) B12 cobalamin

2. These B vitamins are water soluble vitamins.

3. They are found in the following foods – yeast, soya milk, nuts, seeds, kidney beans, chickpeas, cereals, avocados, potatoes, spinach, kale, banana, watermelon, shellfish, fish, liver, meat, eggs, milk, and cheese.

4. A person suffering from the following diseases will not be able to properly absorb a vitamin B complex – HIV, Crohn’s disease, kidney issues, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and colitis.

5. B vitamins, specifically B12 and B6, are important for raising energy levels in the body.

6. B vitamins are also important for ensuring good brain function.

7. B vitamins are vital for all cell health and metabolisms.

8. They also help the body fight infections.

9. B vitamins help promote the growth of red blood cells.
